**Lead the orchard operations** at Schuyler Farms by working with management to execute the tasks throughout the growing season by directing people and equipment as required.

**Lead the culture** of the farm to be a workplace that is inclusive to all, supports knowledge transfer, and is a clean and safe work environment where people want to work.

**Lead the communication** processes that bridge physical orchard operations, maintenance, and management in a way that ensures overall efficiency and the optimal use of labour and machinery assets.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:
Manage the overall orchard operations at Schuyler Farms Limited and other partner organizations, under the direction of and assisted by management. Which includes but is not limited to:
Operations Responsibilities
- Establish production goals and set direction to meet company objectives for orchard crop performance.
- Work with management to set the big picture operations plan by flow, priorities, and schedule of orchard tasks season by season, year to year.
- Work under the direction of management to evaluate and make decisions surrounding orchard agronomy operations.
- Execute this plan by leading the day-to-day direction of the labour force and the leaders within it, who complete the orchard operations. Including but not limited to:

- Hand labour tasks - pruning, thinning, harvesting, and other in the orchard tasks that maintain orchard systems - tree supports, irrigation, etc.
- Equipment operating tasks - mulching / mowing, spraying, harvest support, road and in row grading, etc.
- Work alongside management in identifying the need for, developing, and executing new practices, production systems and policies that support the objectives listed above and those of the organization as a whole.
- Manage and lead a team of crew leaders, equipment operators, and other key staff that execute the above tasks. Work with management to ensure that there is system in place to ensure continued identification of and development for these leaders.
- Coordinate efforts of the teams in the orchard to ensure safety and overall efficiency. This includes working with direct and indirect reports who are leading crews of people, executing spraying operations, operating equipment, and management as required.
- Actively communicate with the shop manager and COO as required, to coordinate equipment setup, repair and general operation support as required.
- Facilitate the direct communication between equipment operators and the shop to accomplish the above as appropriate.
- Be responsible directly and or through designates, the transportation of workers from their accommodations to the worksite. Schedule and direct transportation for workers as required for shopping trips and medical appointments as required by their work contracts.
- Focus on building and maintaining an excellent team environment that is inclusive where all workers can thrive.
- Take an active role in directing effective on the job training and evaluate employees understanding of this instruction and follow up as required.
- Effective training and coaching that facilitates knowledge transfer to build and support a team of employee leaders. These leaders will be responsible for executing modern orchard practices with their assigned teams, under the direction of the OOM.

Operations Administration Responsibilities
- Provide information to the Operations Administrator that facilitates the compilation of employee performance metrics. Work independently or with the assistance of the COO where required to address performance concerns with employees.
