JOB SUMMARY:
As a Sewing Machine Operator you will make adjustments to garments as specified in purchase or customer orders using sewing machine. You will also attach crests to garments as required either by sewing or heat treatment process and ensure quantity, style and size of garments are accurate according to purchase orders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Read and understand instructions detailed on purchase orders
- Confirm quantity, style and size matches orders
- Inform lead hand or supervisor of any discrepancies
- Makes adjustments as required to garments using sewing machine
- May be required to shorten and hem garment; sew or heat seal to a garment
- Check quality of work when finished
- Place finished garments in appropriate tote
- Keep work area tidy; return all materials to correct storage areas
- Assist in other areas when required
- **Hours of work: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm**:

- **Location: Carleton Place**

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to sew a straight line is required and assessed
- Able to work independently and with others in a team environment
- Attention to detail, multi-tasking skills
- Organized, able to meet deadlines
- Ability to operate a sewing machine
- Knowledge of basic math skills to measure and count to verify work orders
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks; good hand coordination is needed
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Attention to Detail - Monitors quality of work and makes corrections
