Job Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for safe operating of machinery used in the production process. This role will ensure that the machinery is properly calibrated, runs smoothly, and at capacity to meet the demands of production department and customer need.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work directly with the Production Supervisor to ensure an efficient production workflow and production requirements and reworked product consistently match product specifications and customer expectations
- Responsible for set up and operation of packaging machinery; retooling changes in packaging and products
- Calibrate the HMI; adjust the programing to meet the needs of different packaging and products
- Monitor and control the machine performance and settings; trouble shoot error codes; report to engineer issues and concerns
- Comply with SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food Safety, Health and Safety, and company policies and procedures; ensure standards consistently meet expectations
- Perform Line Leader’s duties where necessary and/or assist Line Leaders in running the lines with mínimal interruptions
- Assist in providing training to trainee machine operators on all lines
- Other core expectations as defined by the company

**Requirements**:

- Secondary school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education, preferred
- Minimum one (1) year of experience as a machine operator; produce industry, preferred
- Proven knowledge of high-speed machinery, Human Machine Interface (HMI) and experience in calibrating production machinery
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP
- Computer skills and mechanical aptitude required
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy; have a sense of urgency
- Ability to communicate effectively; written and verbal
- Steel toed shoes are required

Working Conditions:

- Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; Flexibility required
- This job operates in a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55°F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation.
- Role frequently requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, use hands to handle or feel product or packaging, and reach with hands and arms
- The position requires the ability to regularly lift up to 30-pounds, occasionally up to 50-pounds
