**Powder Coating Specialist**
**Job Specific Duties**:
- Manage daily operations to ensure timely completion of production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests of coated parts for adhesion and finish quality.
- Collaborate with the Quality Department to implement testing procedures and resolve any quality issues.
- Monitor chemical concentrations, rinse water quality, and other factors affecting pre-treatment to minimize rejects.
- Lead and mentor a team of production workers and powder coaters/painters, ensuring they are trained in powder coating techniques, safety practices, and quality standards.
- Develop training programs for new hires and continuous development for existing staff.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment in compliance with company policies.
- Identify areas for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Optimize line density and increase automation use to streamline operations.
- Maintain accurate records of production, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare and present reports on production performance, quality metrics, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Work closely with other production departments, including Quality Assurance and Maintenance, to ensure seamless operations.
- Engage with suppliers to procure necessary materials and equipment for the paint shop.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist in the delivery of department and company objectives.
- Lead, implement, and coordinate technical process improvements.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations.
- Use or wear the equipment, protective devices, or clothing required by the company.
- Report to your Supervisor the absence or defect in any equipment or protective device of which you are aware, and which may endanger yourself or another worker.
- Report to your Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations or the existence of any hazard you observe.
- Comply with company policies and procedures that apply.
- Make recommendations and provide support for quality improvements with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Monitor automated system machine performance.
**Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education.
- Minimum of 5 years in a powder coating environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
**Preferred Skills**:
- In-depth knowledge of powder coating processes and equipment.
- Proficiency in quality inspection methods and techniques.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record in training and developing personnel.
- Skilled in making informed decisions that drive operational success and foster team dynamics.
- Strong sense of ownership in team outcomes, promoting a culture of responsibility and collaboration.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.62-$25.31 per hour
