Project Scheduler, Transportation

We have a great opportunity for a Scheduler to join our dynamic Transportation Practice Area located in the Markham and the downtown Toronto offices. LEA's Transportation Practice area provides a variety of services including Transportation Planning, Traffic Engineering, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and Preliminary, Functional, and Detail Design of transportation infrastructure for public and private projects. As part of your role, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with an elite team of Transportation Engineers and Planners on solving problems and participating in project coordination.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Gather all relevant documentation and information in order to fully understand the scope of the project.
- Ensure that internal project stakeholders are updated and informed about schedule impacts and data needs through ongoing communication.
- Resource Planning and allocation: Assigning people to projects based on their skills, previous experience, availability, vacations, or project budget under the direction of a Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Senior Planner, or Transportation Engineer.
- Track and monitor resource utilization.
- Identify the critical path and near the critical path in the project schedule and address issues as they arise.
- Communicate early warnings of deviations to the project schedule or plan.
- Suggest and coordinate corrective actions and develop recovery plans.
- Prepare progress reports to be presented at internal meetings.
- Participate in the assigning of tasks/projects and resources meetings.
- Continually monitor industry trends and developments in technology for resource management and adopt them into the workflow when deemed appropriate.
- Other exciting related assignments within the scope of the practice area.

**Qualifications**:

- University or College graduate with a focus in one of the following fields: Transportation, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related fields.
- 1-2 years of experience, interns and Co-op terms are counted towards experience.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Project.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capability.
- A transportation enthusiast with ambition and a desire to learn and grow in the engineering consulting industry.
- Strategic and process-oriented, prefers to operate in a fast and dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented with good problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Team player that shares the entrepreneurial spirit embodied by an employee-owned firm.
- Able to prioritize tasks with excellent organizational skills.

**Vaccination Policy**
LEA has a vaccination policy in place that mandates all employees to be vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to entering/working in person at any of LEA’s office locations/project sites. Further, all employees must maintain all future booster vaccines as approved and recommended by Health Canada.
