Job Description: Your role is to make sure every guest experience is amazing Our kitchen team grills, fries, sautees and prepares all of our menu items to exact quality standards. The line cook also ensures that all items in an order are completed at the same time while practicing proper food-handling procedures. Our high standards in food preparation are the first step in making great meals. Our prep cooks take our high quality meats and fresh produce and food products and following recipes to prepare the great tasting meals we are known for.
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in preparing, cooking, portioning, and packaging ready-to-serve Mexican food specialties, for example chili, tamales, enchiladas, and tacos (seasoned chili beans wrapped in tortillas):
Requisitions ingredients, for example meat, olives, chili, garlic, and spices from storeroom. Directs activities of workers engaged in feeding and tending grinding and mixing machines, rolling, cutting, and baking tortillas, and stirring and tending food in cooking vessels.
Tastes foods to determine that they meet seasoning specifications.
Supervises workers engaged in portioning and packaging foods. Frequently performs duties of workers supervised. May also be designated according to food cooked
Responsibilities/Requirements
- Be able to prepare food to specification
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in a timely fashion
- Stock, set up and clean stations throughout their shift
- Follow Health and Safety Guidelines
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Job Duties:
- Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
- Oversee kitchen operations
- Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
Additional Duties:
- Recording food temperature
- Preparing reports
**Salary**: From $23.00 per hour

- French not required
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Whitby, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
