Assistant Manager - Human Resources Academic Services
Exempt Level 7B (Salary $103,892 to $118,492 per annum)

**Location**: Catholic Education Centre, Aurora
**Position Summary**:
Under the direction of the Academic Services Specialist, the Assistant Manager
- Human Resources Academic Services, will coordinate and support all academic recruitment and staffing practices. The individual will lead a team of human resources professionals and interact with both internal and external stakeholder groups to staff all teaching positions for the York Catholic District School Board.
**Major Responsibilities**:
Support the Academic Services Specialist in the academic staffing process
Manage, motivate and lead Human Resources - Academic Services professionals for recruitment and staffing activities
Provide guidance and support to Human Resources - Academic Services professionals
Provide leadership in the development and implementation of academic staffing processes
Develop and facilitate sessions related to academic recruitment, staffing and retention
Coordinate the annual review of the staffing process as well as support and coordinate the annual joint (Board/OECTA York Unit) staffing guidelines meetings
Co-ordinate the data collection, tracking and generation of reports as required
Provide leadership for system initiatives on behalf of Human Resources - Academic Services as required
Develop, coordinate, implement and maintain various HR-related memos, documents, processes and procedures as they pertain to Academic Services staff
Liaise on behalf of the Human Resources - Academic Services with YCDSB departments on new teacher initiatives
Oversee occasional teacher recruitment and staffing, including collaboration with OECTA York Unit
**Required Qualifications and Experience**:
Advanced College Diploma or University Degree or equivalent with a focus in Human Resources Management or related discipline
5 to 7 years of previous work experience within a unionized environment
**Skills and Competencies**:
Excellent verbal, written, facilitation and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent presentation and project management skills
Excellent leadership and ability to motivate teams and individuals to reach their full potential
Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, discretion, diplomacy and confidentiality
Experience staffing Elementary and Secondary Schools
Understanding/knowledge of Human Resources best practices
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office/ Google Suite
Experience using SAP
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in a team and motivate others
A strategic problem solver and systems thinker, able to handle complex problems and manage stress effectively
