**Job Overview**
We are seeking an experienced and passionate tutor who is interested in working with children anywhere within the age range of Gr.9 to University. This role involves providing personalized instruction and support to students in a 1-to-1 setting, helping them achieve their academic goals while prioritizing a positive and engaging learning environment. Please understand tutors will be reached out to with new students on an as-needs basis, but once you are matched with a tutor we expect a commitment to the student's availability as best as you can. Pay scales up with age.

**Duties**
- Assess students' learning needs and develop tailored lesson plans to address those needs.
- Provide 1-on-1 tutoring sessions in high school to university level science fields
- Utilize various teaching methods and resources to engage students and enhance their understanding of the material.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
- Support students with special education needs by adapting lessons to meet their unique learning requirements.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging atmosphere that promotes student confidence and motivation.

**Skills**
- Proficiency in Science or a particular specialization of science, with the ability to explain them clearly to students.
- Experience working with children in tutoring or classroom settings, demonstrating patience and adaptability.
- Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans, student progress tracking, and communication with parents.
- Ability to educate effectively while creating an engaging learning environment tailored to individual student needs.
- Familiarity with special education practices such as ADHD/autism is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate clear interactions with students and parents alike.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
