**JBS Belleville Quality Control Technician - Leadhand**

With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada's largest beef processors. Consisting of four locations—the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario, a case ready plant located in Belleville, Ontario. The JBS Canada facility in Brooks has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide. At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more. JBS Ontario in Belleville produces fresh meat and seafood products for leading retailers in Canada.

The successful applicant will be required to work for our Red Meat production facility.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager,

**The primary duties would include, but are not limited to**
- Be familiar with product specifications and standard instructions for manufacturing product
- Monitor adherence of production to the product specification
- Assist in the development of effective training and feedback systems
- Be familiar with controllable and non-controllable variables that influence quality of a product
- Perform and regular report on quality audits and product quality checks
- Ensure accurate Bill of Materials through routine audits
- Trouble shooting yield or quantity issues through analysis and observation
- Creation of yield claims to outside customers using prescribed methods
- Additional duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Completed Post-secondary education in biotechnology, microbiology, food science or other related area
- Preferred work experience in QA/QC or lab related tasks (ie. metal detection, gas analyzer, GMP monitoring, label checks, calibration, chemical titrations, micro testing, media preparation)
- Experience or certification with: HACCP, internal auditing, safe handling of food or related is considered an asset
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Able to work in a fast-paced team environment

**Earn Competitive Wage**:$18.69 - $19.21
