Laboratory Technician

**Summary**:
**Duties**:
- Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
- Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
- Operate instruments, with guidance from senior staff perform maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting.
- Perform basic analysis.
- Report results.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Chemical Technology Diploma or BSc. Degree in related field.
- Previous work lab experience is an asset, training will be provided.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail with good organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Team player with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.
**Work Environment**:This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. PPE is required where applicable.
