**The Opportunity**:
Terra’s Excavator Operator in our Civil Department is experienced, safety-orientated, and communicates well with others. Terra’s ideal future Operator has 3-5 years of previous experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoe, tamper, drum roller, wacker’s, and skid steers. Terra’s Excavator Operator will report to our Civil Superintendent.

**A day in the life of the Excavator Operator - roles and responsibilities**:

- Conduct daily pre-trip and safety inspection prior to operating the machine
- Operate the machinery safely at all times
- Use knowledge of trenching, grading and site prep to effectively carry out work
- Uses a high standard to provide quality service in line with project specifications
- Carry out independent work when required
- Carry out work and communicate effectively with various crew members such as Labourers, Foremen, Safety Officers, Superintendents when required
- Other ad hoc duties such as labouring as and when required to support the team and maintain work flow

**Qualifications
- what you bring to the organization**:

- Minimum 3 years of previous experience with excavation on civil mainlines
- Safety-orientated
- Has own vehicle and able to commute to sites across the Lower Mainland
- Flexibility and willingness to work at different sites in various locations in any given week
- Outstanding communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to do other duties as and when required by the team
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- You take pride and are accountable in your work

Pay: $35.00-$42.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
