Agricultural Worker

**Job Title: Agriculture Production Technician**

**Job Location: Lethbridge County, AB T1J 5N9**

**Job Type: 5+ Months Contract (Extendable)**

**Pay: $23.00/hr without benefits**

**Shift: Day shift 7am-3:30pm and 3pm-11:30pm
- rotating every 2 weeks**

**Hours: 40 hours + optional OT + a couple Saturdays**

**Note
- Shift work required. Day shift 7am-3:30pm and 3pm-11:30pm
- rotating every 2 weeks. There may be times where rotation is not necessary, but they still need to be available & willing to work both shifts.**

**Note-**Experience working with identifying and grading seeds; Must be comfortable working on computers with programs such as excel and Microsoft outlook. Forklift Experience is helpful but not required for this role, can be willing to learn; HS Diploma (required to be considered for a perm role)

**Shift Differentials**:

- 1st Shift - $23.00
- 2nd shift - $26.00; +$3.00 premium (paid between hours worked between 4pm and 10pm)
- 3rd shift - $25.00; +$2.00 premium (paid between hours worked between 10pm and 6am)

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Support packaging sampling. Reworking 50 pound bags after sampling them.
- Perform tasks associated conditioning, some general repair and maintenance, as directed by supervisor.
- Activities from receiving to storage
- Conditioning activities such as cleaning and sizing, treating and packaging, palletizing, wrapping and sampling
- Shipping/receiving, interplant movement, rework, warehousing, and inventory management of bagged and bulk seed, including the safe operation of forklifts
- Compliance with Work Instructions and Quality Plan requirements
- Complete and maintain appropriate records, documents, or reports such as quality, safety, grower, and inventory records.

**The following are preferred**:

- Two-year agricultural diploma or related field of study
- Experience in light industrial, manufacturing, seed cleaning and handling, or warehouse
- High School Diploma is REQUIRED

**Other Requirements**:

- Knowledge of production agriculture
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to adjust quickly to changing conditions and anticipate needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, reliability, work accuracy, and timeliness
- Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
- Competent computer skills
- Willingness to work both outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, dry, and dusty conditions
- Ability to climb and/or work in elevated areas; standing and sitting for extended periods
- Position may involve repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
