**Status**:Full time, Permanent

**Hours/Shifts**: 40 hours per week, 5 days per week on a shiftwork basis with 2 days off per week (may not be consecutive days)
- **Must be available to work all shifts - OT may be required**_

Our state-of-the-art processing facility, use of premium ingredients, and chef-inspired recipes has elevated fresh-cut to the next level. We are a dynamic & forward thinking company looking to expand our current product offering. We will continue to create new Inspired items for the Canadian market.

**Focus**

The primary focus of the QC Technician is to contribute to food quality of products with focus on monitoring, testing, and inspection of materials, products, and equipment to ensure customer and regulatory requirements are consistently met.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Checking the quality of lettuce from the greenhouse coming into the facility
- Performs incoming material inspections, and in-process product inspections and finished product quality inspections
- Perform audits of products including components weights, finished weights and other organoleptic evaluation as required.
- Inputting observations into an Excel/Word sheet and communicate to management for any issues.
- Provide Timely and clear instructions on all inspections.
- Assessing product specifications to align with customer requirements.
- Identify quality or temperature problems in shipments.
- Ensures timely and accurate documentation and records keeping is performed
- Assists with verification and validation activities including new product launch, trials to ensure conformance to customers and compliance to regulatory requirements
- QC testing: pH, moisture, bruising
- Conducts shelf-life studies of in-house retention samples
- Participates in the SQF and CFIA inspections
- Provides timely feedback to Management on any quality and food safety issues
- Work closely with production staff in areas of quality, sanitation, GMP’s.

**Education and Experience**:

- Food Industry: 1-3 years (preferred).
- Quality Control: 1 year (preferred).

- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
- Must be a high-performing team player and be willing to work in a dynamic, growing, fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn in-house software programs
- Attention to detail and a quick learner

**Working Conditions**
- Hours may be irregular and in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
- Work outside ordinary office hours (including weekends and holidays) may be required.
- Weekend and evening shifts may be required.
