The Sibling and Family Engagement Advisor will work with community partners across BC, Yukon, and Alberta to create an online sibling peer support network.
The Advisor will develop the program and relationships with community partners and, through them and their Facilitators, their communities of young siblings and their families. The Advisor will work with community partners to build and ensure program viability.
What you'll do
Co-develop and implement plans to facilitate the engagement of patients and family/supporter to participate in service planning, delivery and evaluation and to coordinate feedback systems for improved services and related initiatives.
Active membership including taking on leadership or advisory roles on site wide, program and/or agency related committees that would benefit from patient engagement expertise, and being on quality and leadership tables to address and advance patient engagement as a priority.
Identifies related potential stakeholder concerns arising from existing systems/practices to leadership and collaborates to reach acceptable resolutions.
Builds capacity including advising staff and providers on patient engagement resources, tools, assessing partnership roles and functions, facilitating discussions on patient and family partnerships with health care professionals, providers and staff in understanding patient engagement, and in practicing appropriate and effective partnership approaches with patients/families.
Coaches, supports and builds capacity for family support through existing and new parent volunteer initiatives as applicable and collaborates with leadership to support new patient/supporter as partners through volunteer opportunities.
Partner on the execution, development, expansion, and reports pertaining to related patient/supporter systems and partnerships in consultation with program, agency, project or advisory committee or working groups as appropriate and required.
In consultation with quality, agency and program leadership identify patient and family/supporter feedback themes and inform service improvement opportunities.
Advises program and agency leadership on the development and management of patient and family advisory committees, patients as partners and to grow patient, family supporter networks in consultation with the patient experience teams and stakeholders.
Participates in other related leadership and co design activities specific to the unique agency or program area.
Conduct comprehensive online training sessions for Facilitators to ensure consistency and quality in peer group activities and implementation.
Conduct frequent check-ins with community partners and Facilitators to provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback to ensure program success.
Collect, analyze, and utilize data from Facilitators to inform program improvement, develop future initiatives, and contribute to research efforts
Create a young sibling support curriculum that is adapted from existing content in English and French from current material used by BC Children's & Women's
Coordinating registration efforts for the 5 programs to ensure sufficient attendance for under-utilized support groups and build capacity for over-booked groups;
Contribute to a broad network of sibling supports through liaison with community organizations and stakeholders
Provide and collect program evaluation surveys
Compiling and utilizing data from community partner for program improvement, future initiatives and research.
Create and implement communication strategy.
Create 'Train the Trainer' manual and other resources for establishment of additional young sibling peer support groups.
Coordinate with research partners to collect and analyze project results.
What you bring

**Qualifications**:
A level of education, training, and experience that may include project management, volunteer administration, post-secondary education or the equivalence to a post-secondary degree, plus 5 years recent related experience.
Lived health care experience or knowledge of complex health care systems and communities is an asset.
