**Sandblaster**

**Responsibilities**:

- Blasts surfaces of metal objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart specified finish, using blasting equipment: Loads blast media into machine hopper.
- Masks specified areas of object to protect from blasting action.
- Turns valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of blast mixture flowing through nozzle
- Starts equipment that directs flow of blast / compressed air over surface of parts.
- Manually directs nozzle over surface of trailers or parts to achieve desired result
- Examines finished work to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Produce quality work safely and efficiently

**Requirements**:

- Attention to detail
- Very good hand/eye coordination
- Physically capable of: standing for extended periods of time, working in awkward positions and climbing
- Must have safety shoes/boots and reliable transportation
- Forklift experience an asset
