In this position, you will provide legal support on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters related to the energy industry, including procurement, real property law, information technology law, and advise our various internal departments.

Build a solid understanding of our business and strategic objectives and regulatory requirements to provide quality legal advice and support.
Foster strong working relations with business units and key stakeholders. In year 2, you will:
Be responsible for providing practical legal advice and support to specific business units, including providing legal opinions and drafting contracts.
Analyze legal issues and make recommendations to senior management and our executive leadership team.
Build on existing and new relationships with internal stakeholders and business units. What it takes:
A bachelor of law or Juris Doctor degree, three to six years of post-call experience in an corporate legal department or law firm, and good standing membership with the Law Society of B.C.
Previous energy industry experience as well experience in real property matters, procurement, information technology law is an asset.
A demonstrated analytical ability and attention to detail to identify, analyze, research, evaluate legal issues, interpret legislation and provide legal opinions and advice.
An extensive background in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
Thorough organizational skills to manage multiple time-sensitive files and projects concurrently that meet business owners’ expectations.
In this role, you’ll be provided with a degree of flexibility in where your work is performed while meeting business needs. This includes the flexibility to also work full-time from the office as all of our roles require at least some in-person time. Additional Information
