**Job Summary**:
**How you will make an impact**:
You will be responsible for the supervision and training of kitchen staff, in addition to the production and quality assurance of all menu items.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Assist with production planning and maintaining a high level of quality and cleanliness
- Recommend and implement preparation to reduce costs and supervise all kitchen personnel to ensure correct methodologies are followed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area adhering to food safety and health standards
- Prioritize production and service plans and organize tasks for yourself and the brigade
- Ensure all products and ingredients required for the business is in house and communicate with purchasing and management daily while forecasting for days and weeks ahead
- Advise management of purchasing requirements with a focus on minimizing waste and avoiding product shortages
- Ensure food ingredients are stored in their designated area and rotated in the proper manner
- Be responsible for leading the cleaning & organizing of all dry and cold storage areas
- Provide input into catering menus and work with the chefs to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings including recipe development
- Work efficiently and effectively to gather, wash, cut, season, cook and store ingredients and ensure top quality
- Assist Sous Chefs in maintaining accurate daily production records and completing all required documentation, reports, and logs as assigned
- Train employees: plan, assign and direct work; address complaints and resolve problems

- 5 years cooking experience in restaurants and large production or catering kitchens
- You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
