Reach & Counter Balance Operator

**Job Title**:Reach and counterbalance Operator

**Position Mission/Purpose**:
As a key member of the MacMillan Supply Chain Group team, the Reach and counterbalance Operator is responsible for moving product efficiently, accurately and safely within the warehouse by:
a) Operating forklifts, winches and other devices;
b) Loading and unloading equipment;
c) Storing or relocating materials within the warehouse; and

d) Complying with all safety practices and regulations

**Assigned Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned locations.
- Locating and moving stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
- Identifying damages and reporting shortages or quality deficiencies.
- Transport raw materials to production workstations.
- Performing regular Inspections of Forklifts and other loading devices and equipment to determine the need for repairs.
- Conducting regular maintenance of vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and efficient operation.
- Updating records of inventory and activity logs to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Adhering to all workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Operating Reach and forklift and material handling equipment safely and responsibly always.

**Required Skills**:

- Skilled at operating Reach and forklift, material handling equipment and knowledge of safe material handling procedures.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work assignments for self.
- Capable of working independently and with mínimal supervision.
- Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Flexible and willing to work additional hours when required.
- Flexibility to work at various MacMillan warehouse locations as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbered bin locations, picking line items and completing required documentation.
- Maintains focus and a sense of urgency to meet daily KPI’s in a fast-paced environment

**Education & Demonstrated Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1-year experience as a Reach operator preferred.
- Experience with sit counterbalance, single pallet jack, double pallet jack and stand-up counterbalance an asset.
- Experience working in a logistics, warehousing or manufacturing environment.
- Sound knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures in a pick/pack and case pick environment.
- Forklift certification from a recognized training provider required.
- A proven track record for safety.

**Physical Demands**:

- Physical requirements may include: lifting (50lbs), walking, carrying, bending, sitting, stretching, and standing for long periods of time.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay
