Reports to Manager, Operations Technology & Innovation and is a primary technical resource for information technology and development activities inside the OIS department and across the organization for OIS assets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Works closely with the Information Technology (IT) department and the Operations Information Systems (OIS) department to manage and maintain all systems related to the Geographic Information System (GIS) and its related systems.
+ Works with OIS team and others as part of a development team to customize and extend various 3rd party software products such as, but not limited to, Intergraph G/Technology, Oracle Database, Microsoft BizTalk, and ERSI ArcGIS.
+ Performs as part of an agile and nimble department, Operations IT Specialist will be involved in a range of activities including requirements gathering from end-users, development, documentation and testing of software.
+ Assists with software design.
+ Works with a variety of personalities in a team environment with an up-beat and positive attitude.
+ Learns new skills and systems independently through web research and written literature.

KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
+ Oracle 11g database experience.
+ Microsoft SQL Server experience.
+ Microsoft Biztalk 2013 experience.
+ Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
+ Experience with Java, Javascript, HTML5, CSS, python is an asset.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
+ 3-5 years of relevant experience.
+ Computer Science degree, Computer Engineering degree, or equivalent.
+ Proficiency with the Microsoft.Net Framework (Including WPF) and Microsoft Visual Studio.
+ Proficiency with XML and XSD.
+ Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
+ General knowledge of GIS concepts, and experience with Intergraph or ESRI software.
+ Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills.
+ Positive attitude and very strong work ethic.
+ Ability to learn and adapt very quickly.
+ Ability to work independently or in a small team environment.
+ Excellent organization and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects at once.
