The Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club (“the Club”) is the city’s premier racquets, fitness, and social Club. Located just a few minutes from downtown, the Club offers exceptional tennis, badminton, squash, fitness and aquatics programming for over 4,000 members, along with a variety of social events with upscale-casual dining in 3 restaurants.

We are currently recruiting for a **Full-time** **Housekeeper**to join our team **Shifts are mostly evening shifts from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm.**

**ABOUT THE POSITION**

We pride ourselves to provide effective and high quality service to our members. We look for individuals who are committed team players and can be relied upon by others. The main duties include:

- **RESPONSIBILTIES**:

- Follow cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.,) as outlined for housekeeping department.
- Clean assigned areas which can include; (racquet sport facilities (tennis, squash, badminton courts and pool and fitness centre, locker rooms and public washrooms, parking lots and Club grounds, event and function spaces), furnishings, and fixtures according to established housekeeping procedures.
- Clean floors with dry mops, wet mops, sweeps, waxes, buffs, disinfects where and when necessary.
- Perform emergency housekeeping when accidents occur.
- Clean movable and stationary furnishings and fixtures: Dusts, spot cleans or washes, disinfects when necessary, polishes where required. This includes the cleaning of ledges, shelves, vents, etc.
- Empty and clean garbage and wastebaskets.
- Straighten or rearrange furniture as directed.
- Set-up and take down furniture and equipment for events (must be able to lift 50 lbs).
- Clean bathroom and disinfects all fixtures, floors, and walls.
- Wash windows and mirrors and glass
- Replenish bathroom supplies.
- Clean walls, windows, doors, and ceilings: Spot clean between washings, washes, disinfect when necessary. Walls and ceilings and ceiling fixtures are cleaned as scheduled.
- Clean entrances and exits: Clean as directed above for floors and walls.
- Cleaning and sanitizing, replenishing locker rooms, including showers, vanities, toilets and dusting ledges
- Cleaning of Squash Courts

**QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES**:

- 1 to 2 years housekeeping/laundry experience
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
- Previous club or hotel experience an asset
- Knowledge of WHMIS principles is an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both written and verbal
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and respond with a sense of urgency

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Various indoor and outdoor weather conditions
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift, push, pull, move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in small areas and at heights

**WAGE**:$21.98 per hour

This is a unionized position and also comes with a full benefits plan once you pass probation with the Club.
