Shipping Specialist

Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the Shipping Technician ensures that orders are placed and shipped error-free, cost-effectively, and in a timely manner for our customers.
He carries out all other related tasks requested by his immediate superior, all in accordance with internal procedures and rules.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Goods handling 95%
- Affix invoices and shipping labels to the merchandise.
- Collect and verify that all items and goods are included in shipments.
- Prepare shipments and shipping slips for shipping companies.
- Load, unload, sort or move goods by hand or using a pallet truck.
- At the verification station, ensure that the documents match the goods.
- Collect accessory boxes prepared by the storekeeper and ensure they are placed with the correct orders.
- Strap or wrap wheels and tires for shipping.

Health Safety 5%
- Ensure work areas and equipment are kept clean and organized at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or vocational training an asset.
- One year of experience in a similar position an asset.
- Fluency in spoken and written French is essential. Knowledge of English may be required depending on the needs of the position.
- Having work boots is essential.
- Forklift license would be an asset.
- Be able to do repetitive tasks.
- Be able to work in a place where the temperature varies.
- Have good physical stamina to be able to regularly move merchandise weighing more than 60 pounds.
