- ADI's Toronto Design Center (TDC) is located at the corner of College and Bay, within walking distance of the University of Toronto's main campus. We historically have a close collaboration with University of Toronto faculty at the Department of ECE. ADI's TDC employs about 30 engineers including the Canadian branch of the High-Speed ADC group. The mission of ADC group is to develop high-speed data converter technology, particularly high-performance continuous-time ADCs, as part of ADI's advanced core group in the communication division. We work in close collaboration with US & Ireland ADI offices. Selected recent publications for some of the technology developed by our team in collaboration with peers at other sites can be found in [1-4].
- We are looking for bright, enthusiastic students who will work 1-on-1 with senior staff during various phases of the development of new high-speed converter ICs using advanced CMOS processes.
- Job Description
- 1. Work with a small industry-leading IC design team to complete the development of a new high-speed converter IC for next generation wireless communications.
- 2. Assist in the design and verification, especially physical design and post-layout simulation, of IC sub-blocks.
- 3. Assist with laboratory evaluation and debugging.
- This position offers the motivated students the opportunity to learn from some of the best engineers in the industry, while also pushing the technology envelope in the form of a new and aggressive product. This is the ideal opportunity for a smart, hard-working student who is driven to know more about integrated circuits than is taught in class.
- Job Requirements
- 1. Intuitive understanding of analog circuits at the transistor level.
- 2. Strong grasp of signal processing concepts: time/frequency domain, s

- transforms, digital signal processing.
- 3. Familiarity with schematic capture and transistor-level circuit simulation.
- 4. Conceptual understanding of IC physical design, i.e. IC layout.
- Any experience with software tools such as MATLAB, SPICE, Cadence Virtuoso, Calibre LVS and DRC, or with printed circuit board design/debugging, or with lab evaluation, will be regarded favourably.
