**Property Claims Examiner**

As a Property Claims examiner, you will through the assistance of independent adjusters or contacting policyholders directly, investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate and resolve assigned claims in accordance with Best Practices of the Company.

**General Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide ongoing and detailed instruction to the independent adjuster or legal counsel assigned to the file.
- Direct handle files where possible working directly with Policyholders to resolve losses.
- Review reports provided and provide applicable instruction on further handling.
- Ensure comprehensive investigation of file is completed as necessary and provide direction where needed.
- Provide instruction on necessary experts (engineers, appraisers, etc.) to adjuster or counsel.
- Ensure subrogation opportunities identified and pursued.
- Communicate effectively with Independent Brokers.

**Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities**
- High school diploma required
- Post secondary education (business, agriculture, or insurance) preferred
- Chartered Insurance Professional designation or working towards
- Minimum of 5 years experience adjusting experience required
- Prior field/telephone adjusting experience preferred
- Demonstrated Skills with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Prior experience with Guidewire Suite an asset
- Prior experience/knowledge in building construction an asset
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
- Must work well with brokers, vendors, policyholders and coworkers
- Must display a courteous and professional manner at all times

**Job type**: Full-time, Term Position 6-12 months
