Your Opportunity:
Under direct supervision, performs supportive activities, which contribute to the efficient and effective functioning of the Inpatient unit. Duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning, stocking, ordering forms and supplies. The Service Worker I works cooperatively with several staff members. The role is physically demanding and involves frequent bending, lifting and carrying of items. The work requires long periods of standing and walking.
Description:
As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

**Required Qualifications**:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Good interpersonal and communication skills required. Must be flexible and capable of working independently. Able to prioritize work and cope with frequent interruptions. Able to read, write, comprehend and speak English. Excellent organizational skills required.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Experience in a health care environment preferred. Previous service worker experience. Previous experience in critical care environment.
