**THE ROLE**
- Demonstrate a strong ability in HVAC installations, repairs and service. Perform maintenance and mechanical duties for assigned buildings and related facilities and equipment. The required duties include but are not limited to performance of HVAC, minor electrical, minor plumbing repairs, general building maintenance.
- Assist with snow removal in the winter
- Comply with the guidelines of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and promote a safe and healthy work environment. Wear proper personal protective equipment at all times, and ensure all required training is up to date.
- Maintain tools and equipment for safe and efficient operation and complete necessary logs on all assigned equipment
- Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, literature and technical information related to all aspects of the job
- Assist with special events and other general work orders
- Maintain current knowledge and attend the necessary training to assist with emergency and evacuation procedures (fire, gas leak, water leak, etc.)
- Operate all buildings and related equipment
- Stay current on work orders and maintain understanding of operating requirements through frequent review of operating manuals and inspection sheets
**WHAT YOU BRING**
- Post-secondary school education preferred
- Previous work experience in HVAC
- Basic computer skills preferred
- Skilled in the operation and maintenance of hand tools and equipment
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize work load
- Collaborative team player
- CPR / First Aid Training is an asset
- Valid Driver’s License
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills is required
- Ability to liaise with external contractors in a professional & efficient manner
**WHAT TO EXPECT**:
- On-call emergency response pager required on rotation
- Ability to perform shift work from Mid-October to Mid-March, two day shifts 7:30am to 4:30pm, two afternoon shifts 5:30 to midnight and two days off. Shift work will include weekends. From Mid-March to Mid-October 5-days workweek from 7:30 pm to 4:00 pm, weekends off.
- Heavy lifting is required
