Job Requirements
- Completion of a University Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, or related field of study, or an approved equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Demonstrated progressive experience as an IT Business Analyst in a public or private organization. Municipal or public sector experience would be an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in business analysis techniques such as gathering and interpreting client requirements, interviewing clients, process mapping and optimization using industry standards and frameworks, as well as project management techniques/life cycle in a technical environment.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written, to present information, conduct meetings, and the development of reports and presentations for a variety of audiences inclusive of Council, senior management, and the public. Solid interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, problem solving, and time management skills to handle multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge and experience with research methodology, design and programming techniques, basic level programming code and database technologies to provide technical solution recommendations. NET, CrystalReports, ASP, Visualbasic, JavaScript, C#, HTML5, IIS, XML, jQuery, writing SQL queries.
- Understanding of and experience with ORACLE database, tools and products, and SQL/PLSQL.
- Awareness of best practices in IT service and solution delivery such as ITIL, COBIT, Lean/Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), and change management.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, assist in code reviews, and write documentation in approved formats.
- Class G driver’s license and reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.
