Maintenance Technician - Tofino, BC
Cermaq Canada Processing is currently looking to fill the full time position of a Maintenance Technician at our processing plant in Tofino. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, as a maintenance technician you are responsible for ensuring that the processing equipment and facility structures are well maintained as to achieve maximum productivity and regulatory compliance.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to bringing hard-working and dedicated team members on board while continuing to provide a safe and healthy workplace. As a company, we have adapted to the changing environment, implementing several new processes to ensure the health and safety of our employees and their families.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Performs general maintenance on processing plant equipment and facilities to minimize deficiencies as to ensure that production remains on or within targets.
- Repair equipment and resolves work orders in a priority sequence while being conscious of time restraints to minimize down time of the processing plant.
- Identify maintenance repairs through routine inspections and establishes work orders to efficiently anticipate and resolve maintenance issues.
- Working with a team of maintenance technicians advising the CCP Maintenance Supervisor on processing plant maintenance progress on a regular basis.
- Promoting a positive workplace, supporting the team leaders to ensure collaborative and efficient teamwork.
Application requirements
- Proficient knowledge and expertise of industry mechanics
- Capable of identifying and performing preventative maintenance on processing equipment and facility structures
- Past experience in a maintenance role and the ability to work with others.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficient knowledge of pneumatic systems would be an asset.
- Previous experience in plant maintenance is preferred.
Special requirements
- Prerequisites to hiring are a fitness test and a criminal record check
**Your Reward**:
- Immediate enrollment into our employer paid benefits.
- A starting hourly pay of $26.00/hr plus a daily bonus dependent on production speeds and attendance targets. If met, the bonus can exceed an additional $5.00/hr.
