This role provides for the care and supervision of Bayfield's children, youth and young adult through the use of various relationship building, mentoring, teaching, conflict resolution, and crisis management skills.

**_ The essential duties and responsibilities of a Youth Support Worker:_**

Works collaboratively with the team to support children, youth and young adult with special needs, Neuro Developmental Disorders, and behavioural challenges. The Awake overnight worker oversees and supports personal care and hygiene skills for the children, youth and young adult. This position requires you to be fully awake while on shift. The worker also completes basic housekeeping tasks to support the the home. The Awake overnight will ensure safety checks of the home is completed and requires preparing meals along various other assigned duties and responsibilities. The Awake overnight support will use consistent and positive behavioural management strategies. The Awake overnight shifts are mainly night shifts ranging up to 12 hours per shift; however, based on the need of the program, you maybe ask to assist with other areas when necessary.

**Qualifications**:

- Applicant must have **_at minimum a post-secondary Diploma or Degree_** in a related field such as Child and Youth Work, Behavioural Sciences, Social Services, Developmental Services
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience supporting individuals with special needs
- Basic computer/technology skills for administrative data entry
- Demonstrated skills in the area of setting behavioural boundaries to manage children with physical behaviours
- Strong and patient personality that enjoys interacting and teaching children with special needs
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to supporting individuals from diverse cultures, experiences and backgrounds
- Must have a valid First Aid, CPR. Bayfield will provide UMAB training
- A valid G driver's license with a clear driving record and a safe/reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2-Million liability insurance
- A clear and current Vulnerable Sector Police Screening
- Clear Child Welfare Background Check

Remuneration:_**
- Pay will include $3 wage enhancement from Government for eligible workers in children, community and social services providing personal direct support services for the activities of daily living
