Research Coordinator Ii Nephrology Research

The Kidney and Metabolism program takes a team-based approach to managing proactive care. Our team consists of endocrinologists, nephrologists, urologists, nurses, nurse educators, registered dietitians, social workers, chiropodists, pharmacists and other allied health-care providers. Our Nephrology research team focuses on advancing treatments and care for patients on ICHD, PD or Home D.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Develop and amend research protocols and related study documents, as required
- Preparing REB submissions relative to the initiation and conduct of individual studies
- Designing consent forms and revisions
- Working with internal and external stakeholders, facilitate the development and execution of study agreements (clinical study, data transfer) and other regulatory requirements
- Assist investigators in the development and implementation of study protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Conducting interviews with research participants using standardized questionnaires
- Collecting data via phone calls, interviews
- Administration of the Letter of Information and Consent Form to study participants
- Educating participants as required re: treatment schedule and/or the use of data collection tools
- Process blood samples as per study requirements
- Synthesize, interpret, and present research-related information in reports and presentations
- Administer web-based questionnaires, conduct interviews with research participants, collect and enter data into a data management system (e.g. REDCap)
- Develop and maintain research study budgets and fund transfer schedules, reconcile project expenditures and coordinate financial transaction
- Effectively liaise with investigators and researchers from various research partners from hospitals, research institutes, and universities throughout research studies
- Provide supervision and guidance to Research Assistants
- Update SOPs as part of the Research Operations team
- Overseeing the ongoing collection, tabulation and analysis of study related data and ongoing review and development of study databases
- Ensuring appropriate regulations are adhered to in the conduct of research
**Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills**:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science field (preferably with 5 years related research experience preferably Master’s Degree (with 3 years related research experience
- At least five years of relevant research/program coordination experience in a public sector or academic setting
- Demonstrated project planning and coordination skills, particularly for cross-institution research projects with an interdisciplinary team
- Proven ability to set and meet priorities and deadlines, and to handle multiple assignments in a time-sensitive environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to different audiences through different modes of communication, including and not limited to written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to adapt and learn new skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work discretely with and protect confidential information
- Experience in developing content for website or social media platforms an asset
- Demonstrated flexibility and have the ability to adapt and manage changing priorities
