Under mínimal supervision, performs routine security and janitorial tasks on a scheduled basis. Representative duties involve patrolling the interior of the building, monitoring security cameras and responding to emergencies, as well as the cleaning and vacuuming of tile floors and carpets, washrooms and change rooms, and transporting garbage to designated areas. Coverage of the Reception Desk and assistance of the on-duty nurse on an as-needed basis is also required.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Overall security of the building and our Residents.
- Patrol the interior of the building, checking all exterior doors and windows ensuring that they are secured.
- Monitor the computers at the Reception desk, paying close attention to the display of all exterior doors and cameras.
- Respond to all emergencies concerning a breach of security of exterior doors or the Residents’ rooms.
- Carry and monitor an emergency phone at all times.
- Respond to emergencies from Pull Cord Stations or Residents’ Pendants.
- Respond in a quick and efficient manner, evaluate the situation and determine if 911 needs to be called.
- Liaise with the fire department, ambulance service and RCMP during emergencies.
- Record all information in the Incident Report binder.
- Communicate with Manager through the Communication book.
- Check all floors, hallways and stairwells for garbage and recycling.
- Vacuum carpets in offices, lobby, games room and hallway on 1st floor.
- Clean Spa floor and change room in pool area.
- Clean all washrooms on main floor.
- Clean team member lounge and change rooms.
- Deliver newspapers to Residents’ suites.
- Other duties as required by Maintenance Analyst or General Manager.

**Education and Experience**

Any combination of education and experience providing the skill and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

- Basic Security Training or equivalent experience in building security
- WHMIS
- Must be able to work independently and be physically able to meet the demands of the position such as walking, lifting and light janitorial.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $23.83 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Night shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
