Specializing in the Dairy, Hog, Grain, Poultry and Manure Management sectors, we provide our farming partners with custom tailored Design-Build, Service and Supply solutions.

We are currently recruiting for a **Purchasing Coordinator** for our Central Ag purchasing team. This position is currently located in our **Steinbach, MB** office but will relocate to our **Blumenort, MB** office in early 2025.

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for sourcing and purchasing stock, maintaining inventory levels and assisting with inventory system updates. This role is responsible for maintaining good relationships with suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time.

Duties include:

- Review and process automatically generated purchase orders
- Set minimum and maximum levels for regularly purchased inventory items and conduct visual checks to adjust levels as necessary
- Source and group volumes of product for maximum purchase price savings
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers
- Track the status of requisitions, contracts and orders
- Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries and other problems; arrange for freight and logistics as required
- Assist purchasing, inventory and pricing teams with price updates
- Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files and reports

Skills Required:

- Grade 12 education or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in purchasing
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel; knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics is considered an asset;
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent internal/external customer orientation and good teamwork skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
- Knowledge of agricultural products and uses is an asset
