Construction Labourer

**Job Overview**

As a Labourer at Cass Construction, you will actively participate in the success of high-end residential custom construction projects. You will be responsible for performing any labour, including demolition, carpentry, maintenance, cleaning, framing, trim, and any other work that is necessary to successfully complete the project. You work well with a team of individuals, possess problem solving capabilities, take pride in quality workmanship and customer service. This includes strong communication & listening skills, capable of receiving direction from Lead Carpenter and Construction Manager.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Positive attitude, attention to detail, and good communication skills, strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability.
- Work in a pre-planned and efficient manner to ensure that all tasks are being completed.
- Ensure all necessary materials and tool requirements for upcoming tasks are communicated to the Lead Carpenter daily to prevent delays in the production schedule.
- Complete all daily site maintenance tasks to ensure that the site is clean and organized.
- Perform any activities required as directed by the Lead Carpenter and/or Construction Manager.
- Maintain regular contact with the Lead Carpenter to ensure that all project progress is on track.
- Completion of daily job tracking on Quickbooks Workforce (training provided).
- Ensuring that all site paperwork and information (Drawings, site binders, Signs, safety box, etc) are kept organized
- Ensure that any tools requiring maintenance are correctly tagged and provided to the Construction Manager.
- Prepared to work inside and outside regardless the weather
- Ensure that the job site is kept in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Install and maintain adequate dust protection. Use tarps and plastic to cover existing finishes as needed. Remove construction debris as early as feasible.
- Lock and secure the premises at the end of each day before leaving

**Qualifications**
- 1-3 year in residential renovations/construction.
- Interest in a long-term career in construction.
- Drivers License and own transportation.
- College carpentry or pre-apprenticeship programs are an asset but not required.
- First aid training and Working-at-heights training an asset but not required.
- Have a real passion for working with your hands and building, eager to learn and develop your skills.
- Take a ton of pride in delivering a high-quality product.
- Like to work as part of a fast-paced team and have a great sense of humour.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

**Experience**:

- construction: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class G Licence (required)
