**Job Summary**

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in others' lives? Look no further, Vela Canada is assisting in the search for an exceptional **Part-time**, **Residential Support Worker**located in **Sannichton, BC** to support a kind woman on **Tuesdays and Fridays**from **3:30pm to 7:30pm**. This position aims to provide individual-centered assistance to help maintain her independence while achieving her personal goals. As her support worker, you will be performing the following duties and responsibilities.
- Supporting and transporting the individual to social or recreational activities
- Preparing and feeding the individual meals throughout the day
- Administering and recording medication(s)
- Efficiently utilizing specialized equipment for mobility purposes
- Preparing and assisting with personal care (ex: bathing, oral hygiene, skin care and toileting)
- Consistently ensuring a safe and positive environment for the individual
- Providing individual with mobility support
- Performing housekeeping duties
- Other assigned duties by Microboard

**Qualifications**

**Education & Experience Requirements**
- Preferred HCA Certificate Long Term Care Aid Certificate or equivalent experience
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and physical challenges

**Skills, Abilities & Knowledge**
- Ability to the work as team player with family, friends, and Microboard members
- Empathic, patient, and a compassionate approach
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Understanding of client confidentiality and privacy
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to move in various manners such as bending over and partial lifting.

**Special Requirements**
- Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including criminal record check) or be willing to obtain on
- Valid Driver's License
- Has reliable transportation to work
- Ability to present a driver's abstract

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.50-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
