**Required Skills & Experience**:
- Experience as a Purchaser, Procurement Specialist or similar role.
- Post Secondary certification in Supply Chain Management Diploma or Certificate program.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Expertise in vendor sourcing practices, encompassing thorough research, evaluation, and effective vendor communication.
- Hands-on experience with purchasing software.
- Practical expertise in utilizing purchasing software, coupled with robust analytical skills and adept problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in negotiation, complemented by a keen aptitude for effective problem resolution.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Conduct thorough vendor research, meticulously compare and evaluate supplier offers, and adeptly negotiate contract terms and pricing.
- Demonstrate proficiency in procuring both purchased and manufactured parts in accordance with system demand, adhering to Lean Manufacturing processes.
- Skillfully identify and source part alternatives within approved specification ranges. Possess a comprehensive understanding of incoming freight requirements, including parts, vendors, and both national and international logistics.
- Collaborate with dispatchers to adjust demand and facilitate the smooth coordination of upcoming Less Than Truckload (LTL) and Full Truckload (FTL) shipments.
- Vigilantly track orders to ensure timely delivery, entering pertinent details such as vendors, quantities, and prices into internal databases.
- Maintain meticulously updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.
- Proactively monitor stock levels and initiate orders based on internal planning parameters.
- Address receiving errors and promptly resolve associated concerns related to incoming freight, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining operational efficiency and accuracy.
