- Production Manager

Citizen Design Build Inc. is a company that is focused on working within Indigenous communities, using construction as a mechanism for transformational change.

A Production Manager at Citizen Design Build plays a critical role in planning, executing, and completing construction projects efficiently and successfully. Their responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, from supporting in initial project start up to its final delivery. The skillset required is equally diverse, evenly split between the cognitive and emotional realms, and especially within the ethos of our company culture, emotional intelligence reigns supreme.

We take a collaborative approach for every project, focusing on integrating the client’s needs while ensuring we can provide a sustainable, energy efficient design for each build. This is accomplished by working closely with our skilled team of apprentices, carpenters, site managers, project managers, and designers, while incorporating our Core Values - Care, Culture, Quality, and Cause - into every part of our process.

**Job Description**:

- Manage overall budgets and intuitively make decisions based on overall budgets.
- Develop and maintain systems that increase productivity while considering our core values.
- Define project objectives, requirements, and constraints.
- Provide direction and leadership to project staff, including construction managers, site foremen, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular team meetings with appropriate staff attending and communicate project objectives.
- Delegate duties and allocate resources appropriately.
- Manage labour and trades efficiently to reduce cost overruns, track costs against project budget.
- Regularly review drawings and specifications, ensuring they are up to date.
- Ensure subcontractors have the latest information including drawings, details, specifications.
- Identify and resolve constructability issues, design deficiencies, code violations etc.
- Identify potential risks and communicate issues impacting the project budget and/ or schedule to the Production Manager; work with the project team to mitigate these issues.
- Perform inspections for Quality assurance periodically and regularly on all aspects of the work.
- Update software including but not limited to Shared Drive, Basecamp, Team Gantt, WhatsApp etc.

Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience as Project Manager or Superintendent
- Ticketed Red Seal Carpenter
- Gold Seal Ticket an asset
- Familiarity with Net Zero construction
- Strong Problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Working knowledge of project management and budgeting software like Excel, Basecamp, slack, Team Gantt etc.
- Strong people skills
- High level discernment
- Superb communication abilities
- Combination of technical knowledge, organizational skills, and leadership abilities to manage complex construction endeavors from start to finish.
- Emotional intelligence
- Team Player is a must.

**Salary**: From $57.50-$65.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday 7:30am
- 4:00pm

Pay: $57.50-$65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
