**Parks Worker - Student**:
3 Seasonal Full-Time Positions
$22.52/hr plus 10% in lieu of benefits (2024 rates)
16-week term (negotiable): May 5 to August 29, 2025
Monday - Friday, 7:00AM to 3:30PM

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, under the close supervision of the Parks Supervisor, the Parks Worker - Student performs duties related to the maintenance of municipal parks including preparing and maintaining gardens, playing fields, trees, and grassy areas. Tasks include removing weeds and debris; installing or removing turf, soil and top dressing; picking up and disposing of refuse; assisting with the installation of irrigation systems; and painting. This position also may be required to operate and maintain a variety of equipment and various hand and power tools.

**In addition, the following qualifications are required**:

- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent;
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence;
- Preference will be given for those enrolled in a parks-related field, such as Resource Management, Horticulture, Turf Science, Arboriculture, Environmental studies, Outdoor Recreation, _etc_., at a recognized post-secondary institution.
