We're looking for a talented and driven Lead Catering Cook to join our passionate culinary team at the Canadian Museum of History.

**About the Role**:
As a Lead Catering Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing and executing high-quality dishes while leading and supporting the kitchen team. This role is vital in ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable culinary experience. You'll play an active role in daily kitchen operations, mentor junior staff, and uphold food safety standards — all while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead and support a team of cooks in preparing meals for catered events
- Oversee and participate in meal preparation and presentation according to established recipes and quality standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations
- Collaborate with event managers and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and timing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all food prep and storage areas
- Monitor and manage kitchen inventory; assist with ordering and receiving supplies
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting best practices and skill development

**Qualifications**:

- 3+ years of experience in a catering, restaurant, or high-volume kitchen setting
- Proven leadership and team management experience in a culinary environment
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation techniques and presentation standards
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and commercial kitchen standards
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Culinary training or certification is a strong asset
