Boom Truck Operator

Beacon specializes in the sale of commercial and residential roofing products, waterproofing and air barrier products and roofing systems to professional contractors and dealers.**

**We are currently seeking experienced Boom Truck Operators at our branch in Ottawa, ON.**

**What will my day-to-day look like?**
- Operate articulated cable crane trucks to transport materials
- Inspect loaded truck for accuracy, compliance with weight restrictions
- Maintain accurate records for submission to Fleet Office
- Loading and unloading of materials on residential & commercial jobsites
- Follow safety policies and procedures while loading, traveling and on jobsites are essential in this role.
- Ensuring safety and security
- Use GPS, atlases and other trip planning
- Daily inspections and overseeing the condition of the truck on a daily basis (Follow a daily pre-trip inspection list)
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes and other equipment
- This can be a seasonal or permanent position which offers competitive wages, health, dental, life insurance and RRSP collective plan.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- **What are the requirements?**
- Hold a valid Crane & Hoisting Certificate, Class 3 driver’s license with air brake (Q endorsement)
- Driver’s licence (Class A) with air brake (Z) endorsement and valid crane operator certificate
- Valid crane certificate to operate cranes up to 20 tons.
- Forklift Operator and/or Fall Arrest certification will be an asset
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence between truck and branch throughout the day.
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

**What will give me an edge over other applicants?**
- 1-year previous Boom Truck / Crane Operating experience.
- Experience with building products/warehouse
- Forklift Operator and/or Fall Arrest certification.

**Beacon Roofing Supply Canada, division Groupe Bédard, cherche actuellement à combler, pour sa succursale de Québec, un poste de Chauffeur / Opérateur de Grue Articulée à Bardeau (Knuckleboom) ou à \Gypse (wallboard).**

**Description**:

- Effectuez la livraison des matériaux de façon sécuritaire
- Tenez à jour différents registres
- Respectez les heures de livraison
- S’assurez de la conformité des documents de transport
- S’assurez que la marchandise, la remorque et le camion soient en bon état et propre
- Effectuez les vérifications avant départ
- Aidez à la préparation des commandes
- Faites toutes autres tâches connexes
