Shifts: Variable 24/7 and On-call (Casual Shifts: Must be available for all shifts. Day, Evening, and Night shifts including on Weekends and Stat Holidays)

Position Summary
Join the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) at UHN, one of the largest academic medical imaging departments in Canada With 750,000+ exams annually, we set the standard for clinical excellence. Duties

  • Perform Interventional Radiology procedures in the IR Department using advanced digital equipment, and digital quality assurance
  • Participate in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring
  • Ensure respectful communication with patients and team members
  • Perform strong inter-professional and collaborative approach to practice
  • Showcase judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
  • Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting, especially how to accommodate unexpected situations
Qualifications
  • Certification by the CAMRT
  • Current registration with the CMRITO and fulfilling the annual required continuing education as per CMRITO
  • Live within 60 minutes of hospital
  • Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
  • 2 to 3 years General Radiography experience
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity towards patients in a challenging situation.
  • Demonstrates strong inter-professional and collaborative approach to practice.
  • Demonstrates good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
  • Ability to work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting, especially how to accommodate unexpected situations
  • Demonstrates strong technical skills and image quality
  • Effective time management skills, ability to organize work, and set priorities
  • Effective computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills including through formal clinical documentation
  • Awareness of hospital emergency codes and procedures
  • Ability to work variable shifts and take on-call assignments
  • Current membership with the CAMRT, an asset
  • Previous CT experience, an asset
  • Currently enrolled in or completion of the CAMRT Interventional Radiology Specialty certificate program, an asset
  • Must be able to work wearing lead apron/vest all-day
  • Be able to respond to on-call notifications (arrive at the hospital) within 30 minutes maximum
