À notre sujetLa mission de la Direction des programmes et des services de langue française du ministère de l'Éducation et du Développement de la petite enfance est de fournir des programmes et des services éducationnels de haute qualité promouvant la réalité acadienne et francophone de la Nouvelle-Écosse et sa diversité culturelle ainsi que de favoriser la compétence dans les deux langues officielles du Canada.
Au sujet de cet emploiSous la direction de la directrice de français langue seconde, vous contribuerez à la définition des objectifs à court et à long terme du ministère et vous serez responsable de la conception, de l'élaboration, de la mise en œuvre et de l'évaluation des programmes et des cours pour le système des écoles publiques. De plus, vous aurez pour responsabilité d'offrir des services de consultation et des conseils au sujet des programmes et des cours aux centres régionaux pour l'éducation et à leur personnel professionnel, aux universités, aux associations et organismes, à d'autres ministères et organismes et au grand public.
Vos principales responsabilités concerneront l'appui au développement en littératie de la Maternelle à la 6e année dans nos programmes d'immersion française, notamment avec la mise au point de documents sur le programme d'études et l'évaluation de matériel du programme, selon les besoins. Vous aurez pour responsabilité de faire concorder les programmes d'études et les dispositifs de soutien dans le domaine du français langue seconde avec la politique sur l'éducation inclusive, dans le cadre du Système de mesures de soutien multiniveaux (SMSM). Vous proposerez également des activités de perfectionnement professionnel aux membres du personnel des écoles en ce qui a trait à l'emploi de pratiques d'une grande utilité en enseignement, en appréciation du rendement et en évaluation de l'apprentissage du français langue seconde.
À votre sujetPour atteindre la réussite dans ce rôle, vous devez détenir une maitrise en éducation ou dans un domaine apparenté et huit (8) ans d'expérience en français langue seconde ou dans un contexte apparenté. On pourrait aussi accepter un brevet d'enseignement équivalent et 8 ans d'expérience en français langue seconde ou dans un contexte apparenté.

- Expérience en conception, en mise en œuvre et en évaluation de programmes
- Connaissances approfondies des recherches actuelles et pertinentes à l'apprentissage d'une deuxième langue, des programmes de français langue seconde et de la politique de l'éducation inclusive en Nouvelle-Écosse
- Maitrise du français à l'oral et à l'écrit et excellentes compétences en anglais
- Expérience en enseignement des matières en arts langagiers, santé, et sciences humaines aux niveaux de la maternelle à la 6e année, immersion française

About Our OpportunityUnder the direction of the Director of French Second Language, you will assist in the development of the short and long-term goals of the Department by designing, developing, implementing and evaluating programs and courses for the public-school system. In addition, you will provide consultative/advisory services on programs and courses to Regional Centres for Education and their professional staffs, universities, associations and organizations, other departments, and agencies, and the general-public.
You will be primarily responsible for supporting literacy development, Grades P-6, for our French Immersion program, including the development of curriculum documents and the evaluation of program materials, as needed. Aligning French Second Language curricula and supports with the Inclusive Education policy, through a multi-tiered system of supports, will be part of your dossier. You will also provide professional development support to school personnel in relation to the high leverage instruction, assessment, and evaluation practices for French Second Language learning.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will possess a master's degree in education or a related field, plus 8 years' experience in a French Second Language or a related context, an equivalent Teacher Certification plus 8 years' experience in a French Second Language or a related context will also be considered.
You will also possess the following:
- Experience with program design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Deep knowledge regarding current research relevant to second language acquisition and inclusive education, particularly in Nova Scotia.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written French with strong competencies in English.
- Teaching experience in the subjects of language arts, health, and social studies at the primary to grade 6 levels, in French Immersion.
- Proficient in use of technology and/or Microsoft office programs for communication and instruction in a computerized environment.
- Exceptional communication skills in both English and French (verbal, written, interpersonal skills).
- Excellent qualities of a team player while valuing a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Pay Grade: PR 20
Salary Range: $3, $4,129.29 Bi-Weekly
