Location: Thunder Bay, Ontario

Position: Handy Person/ Maintenance Aide- Part Time

Qualifications:

· Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to read and write the English language.

· Experience in electrical, plumbing, patchwork, painting preferred

· Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.

· Knowledgeable about WHMIS, OH & S

· High School Diploma

· College level trade certificate is an asset

Responsibilities:

· Follow the home's Preventive Maintenance Program as well as the Demand Maintenance Program

· Regularly perform the various tasks described in the programs

· Regularly checking completed maintenance logs in each department/home area of the home

· Complete repairs as necessary including not limited to: Painting, wall repair, small leak, install (toilet, sink, tiling, doors, replace light fixtures, install blinds)

· Check the operation of the mechanical equipment

· Inspect Life Safety equipment and systems

· Ensure safe storage of maintenance equipment

· Complete regular maintenance reports

· Complete pre-start up assessments on a new equipment as applicable

· Coordinate annual preventive maintenance checks by contractors; and

· Perform other duties as required

· Must be available for call ins on short notice

· Perform everything pertaining to maintenance including heavy duty related work
