Our culture has been shaped by the passion and integrity of our people.  Home Trust is a private company. FIRST THING – WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?  We are looking for individuals who are dedicated, passionate, and driven to execute with excellence ABOUT THE ROLE:  The Commercial Mortgage Funder will effectively and efficiently review commercial legal documentation and fund mortgage deals, providing a high level of customer service to HTC customers and their solicitors in accordance with company policies and procedures.In addition:  Review Letters of Intent and Commitment Letters in order to assess what legal documents will be expected from Solicitors and/or third-party Servicers to closeFollow up to ensure legal documents are received and reviewed for accuracy and enforceability prior to scheduled closing datesReview Corporate documents to determine Beneficial Ownership and to ensure AML documentation meets FINTRAC requirementsDemonstrate a good understanding of the structure and requirements associated with Publicly Traded Companies, Family Trusts, Partnerships, Third Party Determination and Politically Exposed PersonsPrepare Mortgage Advances and ensure all advances are processed in accordance with company policies and proceduresProcess construction draw and reserve paymentsEnsure all funded deals are accurate and completeReview documents for Assumptions and internal organizational changesDemonstrate knowledge of Securitization /CMB programIdentify and recommend methods to improve operating efficiencies within the teamBe cross trained to be able to cover and support Residential Mortgage Funders on an as needed basisEnsure Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Client legislation is adhered to on all filesAccountable for all mortgage transactions as assignedDisplay a commitment to the highest customer service ranking in the industryProvide daily pipeline updates and maintain ongoing communication with internal stakeholdersWork closely with Commercial Underwriters to understand transactions and mitigate any potential funding delaysMaintain open lines of communication with the Solicitor and/or third-party Servicer to ensure service standards are attainedWHAT WE REQUIRE: Authorized to work in Canada Great communication skills Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in business management, finance, or related field (university an asset)  2 years of experience with commercial fundingStrong understanding of mortgage lending / commercial mortgagesExcellent written and verbal communicationSolution-focused, takes initiative to work effectively within established guidelinesStrong organizational and time-management skills, detail orientationAble to source and interpret complex data and drive fact-based analysisStrong interpersonal, relationship-building and listening skillsProven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environmentAble to multi-task and flourish in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environmentStrong MS Office skills and an aptitude for learning new systems and processesFlexibility to work some extra hours at peak volume times, as neededExpected salary range is $55,000 to $65,000 per year. This posting is for an existing vacancy within our organization.  Artificial intelligence may be used in parts of the recruitment process. PREREQUISITE: Maintain a positive supportive attitude, help to maintain an inclusive and supportive company culture Learn more:
