Guided by our values of safety in every step, personal accountability, one team and active learning, we deliver the critical energy that North America and the world rely on while balancing reliability, affordability and sustainability.The OpportunityOur Canada Safety Team is looking to add a Safety Program Specialist, based in Calgary, AB.Reporting to the Manager, Contractor Safety, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and governance framework for managing incidents across the Canada Gas asset base. The position serves as a subject matter expert and advisor to leaders and teams on best practices and compliance requirements related to incident management.*Not eligible for relocation assistance* What you will do Establish and maintain the jurisdictional incident investigation / management governance policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring alignment with enterprise processes, industry standards and regulatory requirementsDevelop and deliver training programs to educate employees on the incident investigation framework, roles and responsibilities, and response protocolsProvide subject matter expertise and guidance to incident response teams during incidents, ensuring effective coordination and decision-makingAnalyze incident data and reports to identify trends, lessons learned, and opportunities for process improvementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Safety, Security, Business Continuity) to integrate incident investigation practices into broader risk management and resilience strategiesStay up to date on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to incident managementRepresent the organization in external forums, industry associations, and regulatory engagements related to incident managementContinuously review, assess, and update the incident management governance framework to ensure it remains effective and adaptable to changing business needs and evolving threatsMinimum Qualifications Post-Secondary degree in a related field (consideration for work experience and training will be considered)6 or more years of related experienceDemonstrated experience with incident investigation / management governance policies, procedures, and protocolsPreferred Qualifications Certification in various root cause analysis techniques Advanced Certification in Incident Command System (ICS)Strong degree in digital fluency, data interpretation, and technological adeptnessProven experience developing and delivering training programsThis position will involve travel and overnight stays away from home (estimated up to 20% of work schedule) Have current, valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada, US and Mexico)Have a valid driver's license and submit to abstract assessmentTo remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we offer a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible office-based workforce in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. #LI-HybridAbout our businessWe are a leader in North American energy infrastructure, spanning Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
