Why This Role Matters to Modern Niagara This COOP position provides students a unique opportunity to learn directly from the field while working closely with industry professionals. It allows undergraduates step into the heart of project operations by seeing firsthand how teams coordinate, how schedules are maintained, how challenges are solved, and how buildings take shape each day. They will be playing an important role in supporting the successful delivery of construction projects, at the same time, building valuable technical and professional skills that are difficult to acquire in a classroom, and provided a strong foundation for a future career in construction or project management. It’s an opportunity to make meaningful contributions while gaining practical insight into how complex construction projects come to life. Key Impact / Purpose Gain hands‑on experience in real construction estimation and coordination Strengthen communication and collaboration across project teams Build foundational project estimation skills in a practical environment Duties and Responsibilities: Maintaining database of all quotes received for active tenders Track all active tender close dates and required information for closing Create projects in Procore for all awarded tenders Prepare proposals for tenders, if needed Generate presentations for clients and internal meetings Must -haves: Working towards a university degree or college diploma in a related field such as Electrical Engineering or applicable education Attention to detail and ability to find important information in tender documents Strong computer skills with hands-on working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word Team player, energetic, resourceful, reliable and timely Eager to work and learn in a fast-paced industry Nice-to-haves: Related work experience is an asset, including from other co-op placements, internships, projects Experience in the construction industry a strong asset but not mandatory Customer service experience would be an asset as this role will be required to follow-up with subtrades on quotes Salary range for this position is $23 - $25 per hour About Modern Niagara Who We AreModern Niagara helps building owners, managers, and general contractors meet the mechanical, electrical, integrated building technology, and building services needs of their buildings across Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Southwestern Ontario, and Ottawa.
