Our state- of-the-art centres of community offer a range of health, fitness, and aquatics programs for individuals and report to the Supervisor, Child, Youth and work collaboratively with other members of the YMCA team to provide a safe and fun environment for our child, youth, and family programming and to provide a safe and welcoming experience in branch.Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will:Lead programs for children aged 0 to 12 years old in a positive and professional mannerFacilitate games and activities for various children’s programs to promote active and creative playBuild meaningful relationships with children, parents, YMCA members, visitors, and colleaguesNavigate challenging conflict situations using YMCA standards and proceduresEnsure program design, lay-out, and offerings meet the needs of all participants at various levelsLead program delivery, while ensuring contents meet the appropriate criteria and outlineStrong work ethic and able to remain flexiblePerform general administrative duties and record keeping responsibilitiesEnsure the safety of all members, participants, staff, and property by following YMCA policies and ensuring they are maintained among all members and staffAssist with training new staff/volunteers in procedures and practicesProvide exemplary customer service to all members, guests and participants in all program areas by providing facility tours and education on current program offerings relevant to the member/familyQualification-you bring:Current Standard First Aid certificate with CPR level C & AED (valid within 2 years)Experience working with children - preferredDemonstrated high level of customer service skillsSuccessful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date. About YMCA BC:By igniting belonging and championing health equity, YMCA BC strengthens the foundations of community.
