Is this role right for you? In this role you will: Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.Prepare and execute quarterly business plans to aid in the meeting of individual, regional and corporate targetsActively participate in prospectingComplete financial planning in the areas of risk management, estate planning, liability management, cashflow/budgeting, education funding, tax, retirement planning, investment management, practice management and goal settingPrepare comprehensive financial plans and specific investment strategies based on MD Management developed and managed optimal portfolio rangesUnderstand and comply with all industry regulations and MD's program and process requirementsConduct financial planning seminars and information meetings throughout the region to inform clients about new strategies, legislative changes and MD Management's programsIncrease visibility of products and services through contact with centers of influenceKeep current on issues affecting the financial affairs of clients, including a general knowledge of income tax, investment trends and products, as well as any other issues impacting clientsProvide input to marketing and management concerning potential new products and servicesTravel within established travel circuitUnderstand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. The Must Haves: University degree in business, commerce or a degree related to practice of financial planningCIRO licensed as a Registered Representative having completed the Canadian Securities Course, the Conduct & Practices Handbook and 90 day trainingCompletion of the Group Annuity Sector (PQPAV) (Quebec offices only); Life License (LLQP) (all other provinces), and the willingness to complete other regulatory requirements Strong working knowledge of Financial PlanningGood product knowledgeA demonstrated track record of above average sales in a financial services or related environment2+ years financial planning experience within the financial services industry Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have: Strong marketing skillsExcellent presentation skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills #LI-CB1
