Join us today and reach your full potential with an exciting career in aviation.JOB OVERVIEWThe AME Mechanic Apprentice assists on line and shop maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations and KF Aerospace maintenance manuals and procedures.Project Maintenance: The Mechanic Apprentice works under a Licensed AME’s supervision on line and heavy maintenance projects, involving:Showing ability to retain information and apply learning’s to similar situationsCompleting assigned tasks in a timely mannerTaking responsibility for quality of own work and fixing mistakes where requiredEngaging in basic trouble shooting on assigned taskReporting to the Crew Chief any unserviceable condition discoveredDemonstrated Technical Skills: The Mechanic Apprentice is expected to be able to demonstrate their capability to perform the following technical functions:Layout of basic SRM repair with minimal assistanceLearn to thoroughly understand systems such as air conditioning, hydraulics, engines, flight controls, landing gear, avionics, electrical generation, oxygen, fuel, pneumatics - on multiple aircraftAble to inspect and identify defectsAble to find and read applicable drawingsBasic troubleshooting knowledgeSafety: The Mechanic Apprentice is expected to apply safe work practices in all job duties, including:Wearing all appropriate personal protective equipmentUnderstanding and applying the company’s Risk Management SystemMaintaining good housekeeping standardsUnderstanding and applying safe handling practices with the aircraftDocumentation: The Mechanic Apprentice is responsible to become familiar with general KF Aerospace paperwork and parts ordering, which involves:Ensuring appropriate documentation is complete and submitting to an endorsed AME or Crew Chief for ACA approvalREQUIREMENTSGraduation from a Transport Canada accredited “Approved Aircraft Maintenance M Program”Must be able to obtain and retain a Transport Canada Airport PassBasic computer skillsMechanical aptitude and ability to work safely with basic hand toolsAble to read technical manuals and drawingsPositive attitude and strong work ethicAble to work effectively independently and as part of a teamAble to take direction from othersQuick learnerAbility to work 40 hours a week in a rotating shift-work environmentAbility to travel, as requiredMust be physically fitHOURS OF WORKThis is a shift work position which will require you to work days, evenings, and weekends. The position starts at $24.10with bi-annual performance and wage reviews. An employee can increase their wage up to $30.60as an Apprentice before obtaining their Transport Canada License. Apprentices are expected to work towards filling out their Logbook & achieving their Transport Canada license. Once you have achieved your Transport Canada License, your wage will increase to $37.28 per hourwith room to grow into Senior AME & Shift Lead roles. You are also eligible to receive $2/hour endorsement pay once an ACA is issued.
