Closing Date: November 28, 2025 12:00 PM As a member of the Ongoing Care Department, the Supervisor will provide leadership and supervision to a team of workers with respect to program/case management and planning. The Supervisor is responsible for the unit staff, maintaining and improving existing service delivery, managing unit workload distribution, and implementing all administrative, service and personnel policy and procedures within the unit such as child protection and assessment, casework, legal preparation, working with caregivers and collaterals and completing administrative and reporting requirements. It is the responsibility of every position to provide, where requested culturally relevant service or assist with access to such service. Main areas of Key Responsibilities and Activities Provide supervision and consultation to a team of social workers with respect to program/case management and planning. Provide leadership to the service unit on the resolution of identified service and administrative issues affecting the unit. Assist unit team members with assessing risk, individual and family functioning and service needs, crisis intervention, service planning and short and long-term intervention. Oversee the completion of child protection investigations and court work required by unit team. Provide advice concerning the apprehensions of children at risk and coordinate the placement in appropriate and/or available settings. Oversee and manages service delivery of department. Education and Experience BSW plus five years of direct child welfare experience or post-secondary degree in social services plus seven years of direct child welfare experience Three years' ex perience working with youth and/or young adults Experience developing strategic plans, operational plans and proposals Experience in crisis intervention, abuse investigation and assessment of high-risk situations Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated understanding of Metis and Inuit culture and communities. Understanding of Child Welfare Act, standards, regulations and CFSIS. Excellent assessment, interviewing and counselling skills. Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills. Demonstrated ability to interact with people in a sensitive, tactful, diplomatic and professional manner at all times and to work cooperatively within a team environment. Ability to work effectively in a high-volume and time-sensitive environment. Ability to work in an ethical manner and ensure integrity while maintaining confidentiality. Before commencing employment, the successful applicant will need to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry Check and Prior Contact Check upon hire at their own expense. A valid Manitoba driver's license and the use of a personal vehicle are requisites, as travel within and outside the city is required. Registration with the Manitoba College of Social Workers is an asset.
