The Dietitian advises on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors. This position is responsible for providing leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of the patient, client/community through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support and rehabilitation. The Dietitian is responsible to participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including but not limited to Preceptoring Dietetic Interns.  As a member of the inter-professional team, the Dietitian contributes to client care through collaboration with health care team providers, sharing nutrition expertise, ensuring quality and continuity of care and supporting a range of health care services. These services are provided within a holistic, client centered framework in accordance with our mission, vision, values, and strategic direction.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:Bachelor’s degree with major concentration in Foods and Nutrition requiredDietetic Internship Program requiredCurrent registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association is requiredMinimum one (1) year working experience as a dietitian preferred Inpatient clinical nutrition experience an assetsCompetency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutritionExperience counselling patients in an outpatient setting Current WHMIS an assetDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications, Familiarity with the Meditech considered an asset information system considered an assetDemonstrated interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure of time limitationsDemonstrated participation in continuing education and upgrading of skillsAbility to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare teamCompetencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.HoursPermanent Part-Time Position; 7.5 hours biweekly Compensation and Benefits$37.27 - $51.62 Hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
