In this role, primary responsibilities include: Develop and executed a data engineering strategy aligned with enterprise goals and digital transformation; Collaborate with stakeholders to define a unified data architecture and scalable roadmap; Promote innovation through emerging technologies and platform enhancements; Establish governance frameworks and best practices for data consistency and compliance; Architecte enterprise-scale data platforms using Microsoft Azure tools (Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Event Hubs); Lead advanced Databricks implementations for large-scale processing, ML workflows, and real-time analytics; Enable actionable insights via semantic models and Power BI enterprise reporting; Built robust data pipelines for high-volume ingestion, transformation, and distribution. Direct a high-performing team, ensured 99.9%+ uptime, and drove automation and DevOps for operational efficiency. Key Elements We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, or related fields;  7+ years of experience in technology leadership, with a proven track record of building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing engineering teams; 7+ years of hands-on Data engineering experience; 7+ years of data warehousing and ETL tools experience; 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in information technology; Deep expertise in database and data architecture, with demonstrated experience in designing robust dimensional data models; Experience with Finance Reporting Modernization; Experience with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce or SAP. Role Specific Information: Location: Remote (from one of our Canadian site); Annual bonus based on performance; Schedule: Daytime between Monday and Friday; Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week. Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
